It is Mane ‘n Tail’s pursuit to support riders across all disciplines, ages, and experience levels. We are proud to sponsor the New York Empire team in the Global Champions League (GCL). The GCL is the world’s leading show jumping series, where top show jumpers form teams to compete at the highest level. The league brings together 18 teams, each made up of five seasoned riders and one Under 25 rider, creating a pathway for talented young athletes to develop alongside established professionals.
The New York Empire team is led and owned by world-renowned equestrian, author, and Mane ’n Tail ambassador, Georgina Bloomberg. A relationship that began in 2019 has grown into a unique partnership, as Mane ’n Tail aligns with a shared philanthropic mindset focused on supporting the equestrian community.
The Global Champions League travels to 17 locations around the world, visiting some of the most prestigious destinations in equestrian sport, including Doha, Qatar; Paris, France; Madrid, Spain; New York City, New York; and the finale in Prague, Czech Republic.
In an interview with the Global Champions League, Georgina expresses her love for the New York City competition:
“This is where I was born and raised, went to college, and where my son was born. It is where all my happy memories are. I am proud to be a New Yorker and to bring everyone here and show them this is incredibly special.”
Competitors must be tactful and precise as they navigate a 1.60m (5 feet 3 inches) course at the CSI5* level. Concours de Saut International (CSI) is the international ranking system for show jumping competitions, governed by the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI), the international governing body of equestrian sport.
At the international level, a CSI1* represents the introductory phase of competition, while CSI5* is the highest and most elite level in the sport. The GCL competition brings this top-tier talent to cities around the world, showcasing the sport on a global stage.
